Dawn Health, a leading Digital Health product company, is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to join our team in Copenhagen. As an Engineering Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our software engineering efforts.
What will you be doing?
Software development at Dawn Health is at the core of everything we do.
As an Engineering Manager at Dawn Health, you will oversee the core of our software development efforts. You will manage a diverse team of mobile developers to ensure the successful design and development of Digital Health/Medical Device Software solutions.
Within the first few months of your employment, you will participate in training programs that will equip you with the knowledge to guide the development of digital health solutions, such as Medical Device Software.
Our Digital Health products are comprised of Mobile (iOS/Android), Web, Backend and Cloud-based solutions intended to provide value for end-users such as patients or doctors.

We need you to:
- Have minimum of 3 years of experience as a software developer.
- At least 1-2 years previous people management experience (managing developers or other technical roles).
- Have a desire to inspire and guide others.
- Have professional proficiency in English.
- Have experience with Scrum and Agile software development methodologies.
Bonus if you have:
- Experience with developing regulated products (e.g. medical device software or similar relevant industries).
- Experience with hiring and scaling up engineering teams.
- Experience from consulting (e.g. fixed budget projects, customer contact, etc.).
- Experience with mobile software development (Android and/or iOS).
- Experience with cross-functional software product development (i.e. interacting with other departments such as UI/UX, QA/RA, Systems Engineering, etc.).
Responsibilities:
- Building, mentoring, and acting as a line manager for a group of 8-10 mobile developers (iOS and Android), ensuring their skills align with the organization's goals and that they thrive in the project teams they are assigned to.
- Ensuring the developers effectively adopt Scrum and Agile practices.
- Ensuring the developers understand how to work within relevant regulations (e.g. SaMD, GDPR, etc.).
- Driving a culture of continuous improvement, learning, and innovation within engineering.
- Working with defining career path progression, employee growth, hiring and retention of talent.
- Identifying and implementing new tools, technologies, and best practices to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the engineers.
- Conducting regular management activities, such as 1on1s, yearly appraisal talks, resource planning and assignment to projects, etc.
- Identify potential risks in projects and help support engineers and give them a context where they can be successful.
