Help shape the future of surgery.
At Navari Surgical, we’re developing innovative technology designed to make a meaningful difference in the operating room. As we move toward clinical use and market introduction, we’re looking for a System Engineer who wants to take broad technical ownership and help turn complex engineering into a safe, reliable medical product.
This is a role where you’ll work across mechanics, electronics, software, clinical needs and regulatory requirements, making sure all the pieces come together as one system.
If you enjoy solving complex problems, taking ownership, making decisions and working in a fast-moving environment, this could be a great opportunity for you.
The role
As System Engineer, you will have overall technical responsibility for the Navari surgical system throughout its product lifecycle — from design and development, through clinical investigations and market introduction, to post-market activities.
You’ll work closely with engineering, clinical, regulatory and commercial stakeholders, as well as clinicians and other users, translating real-world needs into robust technical solutions.
Your key responsibilities
During product development, you will:
- Take overall responsibility for system functionality, safety and security.
- Plan and coordinate system-level risk management.
- Define and maintain system requirements and ensure traceability through verification and validation.
- Develop system-level test methods and acceptance criteria.
- Define and manage interfaces between mechanical, electronic and software subsystems.
- Take responsibility for selected subsystems when needed.
- Lead implementation of new or changed system requirements and coordinate activities across subsystems.
- Evaluate technical results and feedback from clinical investigations and user focus groups.
- Contribute to regulatory activities and develop product technical documentation.
After market introduction, you will:
- Support technical changes and improvements to the system.
- Provide technical input to customer communication and training.
- Maintain product technical documentation.
Who are you?
We’re looking for someone who is comfortable seeing the big picture while still caring about the details.
You’re a systems thinker who naturally understands relationships, dependencies and interfaces between different parts of a product. You take ownership, make decisions and keep things moving — even when the path is not always clear.
You’ll likely thrive in this role if you:
- Enjoy working broadly across disciplines.
- Are comfortable with change and ambiguity.
- Take ownership and follow problems through to solutions.
- Are a collaborative team player with strong attention to detail.
- Communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Enjoy understanding how technology is used in real-world clinical environments.
- Have experience from a startup or other fast-moving environment — highly valued, but not essential.
What you bring
- An academic degree in engineering, such as mechanical, automation, electronics, software or biomedical engineering.
- 5+ years of experience as a System Engineer or in a similar role.
- Experience from the medical device industry is highly relevant; experience with other regulated products is also valuable.
- Broad technical understanding of mechanics, electronics, software and their interfaces.
- Experience taking overall system responsibility and managing dependencies between subsystems.
- Experience across the full product lifecycle.
- Experience with technical project management is a plus.
- Experience of hospital environments and equipment as well as communication with clinicians is of great value.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in Swedish and English.
Why join Navari Surgical?
