Senior Front-End Developer — Angular / Scientific SaaS

We are supporting a search for a Senior Front-End Developer to join a growing scientific SaaS business operating at the intersection of software, AI, and biopharmaceutical process development.
The company is building a technically sophisticated platform used to support complex scientific and computational workflows. As the product develops, there is an increasing focus on ensuring those technically complex capabilities translate into intuitive, reliable, and genuinely usable product experiences.
This creates an interesting opportunity for a senior Angular developer who wants more ownership than simply implementing tickets or reproducing designs.
The successful person will have meaningful influence over front-end architecture, component design, user flows, product usability, and engineering standards across the platform.
You will work closely with backend engineers, infrastructure teams, product stakeholders, and scientific domain experts, helping translate complex modelling and bioprocess workflows into interfaces that users can navigate effectively.
There is therefore a strong product element to the role. The team is looking for someone who thinks about how the application should work, not simply how individual screens should be coded.
The role will focus on:
- Building scalable and maintainable applications using Angular and TypeScript
- Designing reusable UI components and front-end patterns
- Taking ownership of user flows and component architecture
- Integrating the front end with backend APIs and services
- Translating complex scientific workflows into intuitive user experiences
- Improving usability, consistency, accessibility, and responsiveness
- Influencing broader front-end architecture and product decisions
- Maintaining strong standards around performance, testing, reliability, and maintainability
- Collaborating closely with backend, infrastructure, and product teams
- Contributing to code reviews and broader engineering standards
We are looking for someone with:
- 5+ years of relevant experience
- Strong professional Angular experience
- Strong TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS knowledge
- Experience integrating front-end applications with REST APIs
- Experience with state management and reactive programming
- Familiarity with unit, integration, and end-to-end testing
- Experience working within modern Git and CI/CD environments
- A strong understanding of responsive design, usability, and accessibility
- A thoughtful product mindset and strong attention to detail
- The ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
