About The Role
At Enginzyme, we’re pioneering biomanufacturing — combining the power of enzymes with the efficiency of traditional process engineering. We are seeking a Research Assistant to join the Analytical Chemistry team and support R&D through analytical method development, method validation, quality control, and instrument support. The role is central to ensuring that robust, reliable analytical methods are available to support research activities across projects, while also contributing to the effective operation and continuous improvement of the analytical laboratory. You will work closely with researchers and colleagues across R&D in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. This is a hands-on laboratory role suited to someone who enjoys solving technical problems, improving methods and workflows, and taking ownership of analytical work in a fast-paced setting.
This is a full-time, on-site position based in Solna. Please submit your application in English. Candidates should hold a valid work permit for Sweden.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Assist with analytical method development, optimisation, and maintenance.
- Perform routine QC and help ensure methods remain fit for purpose.
- Assist with troubleshooting and instrument repair.
- Support routine instrument maintenance and upkeep.
- Prepare standards, calibration solutions, buffers, and mobile phases.
- Assist with writing and updating SOPs and other lab documentation.
- Support laboratory operations, including inventory, consumables, and general lab organization.
- Work closely with scientists and communicate progress clearly.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with:
- MSc in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a closely related field is required.
- Hands-on laboratory experience with chromatography, ideally GC and/or HPLC, is required.
- Strong understanding of analytical calibration, QC, and method maintenance.
- Strong Excel skills.
- Strong written and spoken English.
Meritorious Experience
The following would be considered an advantage:
- Experience from an industrial, biotech, or commercial laboratory environment.
- Familiarity with chromatography software and laboratory data systems.
- Exposure to method development and troubleshooting.
- Experience creating SOPs, validation summaries, QC tools, or other technical documentation.
- Experience supporting instrument maintenance and routine laboratory operations.
