About Visibuilt
Visibuilt is building fossil-free alternatives for pavement materials. Our core technology, visiBINDER, is a 100% bio-based binder developed from mycelium and designed to reduce energy use and CO2 emissions in infrastructure materials. We are based at Alfa Laval Innovation House in Søborg, just outside Copenhagen.
The role
The role focuses on execution of material testing and data analysis for development and validation of pavement-related materials, including mycelium-based composites.
Main responsibilities
- Perform laboratory testing according to established standards and internal protocols
- Execute mechanical tests including:
- Indirect Tensile Strength (ITS)
- 3-point bending (flexural strength)
- Compressive and general strength testing
- Conduct accelerated aging tests such as wet–dry cycles, freeze–thaw, and applied loading
- Prepare, condition, and handle material samples prior to testing
- Collect, process, and analyze test data, ensuring consistency and traceability
- Document results in the electronic lab notebook and contribute to reporting
- Support development and validation of new material formulations through systematic testing
- Be the custodian of the laboratory equipment: ensure that maintenance and calibration is carried out, and generally make sure that the equipment is keep in good order.
Preferable Profile
- Hands-on experience with laboratory testing of materials
- Familiarity with standard testing protocols (preferably for asphalt, concrete, or similar composite materials), experience with pavement-related standards and testing methods
- Ability to work independently with structured experimental workflows
- Strong attention to detail and data quality

Practical note
