We are growing our mobile engineering team and are looking for a passionate Android Developer who wants to help build digital health products that truly make a difference in patients’ lives around the world.
Software engineering is at the core of everything we do. As an Android Engineer at Dawn Health, you will work on Software as Medical Device (SaMD) solutions, collaborating closely with product designers, engineers, architects, regulatory specialists, and client teams – often together with some of the world’s leading pharma companies.
Role Overview
As an Android Developer, you will:
- Build and evolve modern Android applications as part of regulated digital health products.
- Collaborate closely with Product Designers, Product Managers, and Engineers to deliver intuitive, reliable, and scalable solutions.
- Contribute technical insight to planning, estimations, and architectural decisions.
- Work in agile teams with a strong focus on quality, usability, and maintainability.
- Engage in continuous delivery workflows and fast feedback cycles.
What You’ll Do
Android Development
- Develop state-of-the-art Android applications using a modern tech stack.
- Translate designs and product requirements into robust, high-quality functionality.
- Write clean, readable, and well-structured code with clear architecture and documentation.
Collaboration & Delivery
- Work closely with cross-functional teams across design, engineering, regulatory, and operations.
- Support project planning with technical input and realistic estimations.
- Participate in code reviews and knowledge sharing across the mobile team.
Quality & Craft
- Balance quality and pragmatism to ensure the best outcome for each product.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of development practices, tooling, and workflows.
- Take part in continuous delivery and rapid iteration cycles.
What Success Looks Like (6-12 Months)
- You are a trusted Android contributor on one or more digital health products.
- You deliver stable, maintainable, and well-designed Android solutions.
- You collaborate seamlessly with designers, backend engineers, and product teams.
- You actively contribute to code quality, architecture discussions, and team learning.
- Your work directly supports products that improve patients’ lives globally.
About You
- Experience: Hands-on experience within the Android ecosystem (Kotlin, Android SDK, Android Studio).
- Mindset: Curious, proactive, and driven by purpose.
- Execution: Able to turn designs into functional, high-quality Android solutions.
- Engineering Craft: Strong understanding of clean architecture, SOLID principles, and readable code.
- Collaboration: Comfortable giving and receiving feedback and working in cross-functional teams.
- Pragmatism: Understands how to balance quality, speed, and regulatory requirements.
- Language: Professional proficiency in English.
Nice-to-haves / Bonus points
- Experience with Jetpack Compose.
- Experience with modularized Android architecture.
- Experience with Coroutines and/or RxJava.
- Experience writing automated tests (unit, integration, UI).
- Experience with pull request reviews and collaborative Git workflows.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines for mobile.
- Experience with mobile analytics.
- Experience with Bluetooth, IoT, or hardware integrations.
- Experience with security-by-design in mobile applications.
