The company
Evodia is a Danish bio-industrial company reinventing how natural aromas are produced, using yeast fermentation instead of traditional farming. Founded in 2021, we’ve gone from idea to market in just four years: built our own production site, lab, and offices, secured regulatory approvals, raised DKK 100 million, and launched our first commercial product, Yops®.
We’re pioneering sustainable aroma solutions for the brewing industry, with a long-term ambition to supply natural aromas across multiple categories including wine, functional beverages, and soft drinks.
Backed by strong investors such as the Novo Nordisk Foundation, BioInnovation Institute and global partners Symrise and Lallemand, EvodiaBio was honored with the EY Entrepreneur of the Year 2024 award in Life Sciences.
As we scale across Europe and North America, we’re seeking a CFO to elevate our financial strategy, operations, and investor relations to the next level. This is a rare opportunity to join a passionate, international team making a tangible global impact.
What you’ll do
- Financial strategy & planning: Develop and execute Evodia’s financial strategy in close collaboration with the CEO and Board.
- Budgeting & forecasting: Lead financial planning, cash management, and performance tracking.
- Fundraising & investor relations: Drive fundraising processes, build strong investor relationships, and ensure clear, data-driven reporting.
- Accounting & compliance: Oversee financial reporting, audit, tax, and compliance (bookkeeping is outsourced).
- Scaling & internationalization: Build robust processes and systems that support growth across multiple markets.
- Business partnering: Be a trusted sparring partner for the CEO and leadership team. Turning insights into strategic decisions.
- Risk management: Anticipate and manage financial, contractual, and operational risks.
- Supply chain & quality oversight: Ensure supply reliability, strong operational flow, and compliance with relevant certifications (BRC, Kosher) in close collaboration with our Quality Manager, who manages the day-to-day activities
- HR & organization: Oversee HR and internal policies, supporting a high-performing and motivated team.
Who you are
We’re looking for a CFO who is not afraid to roll up their sleeves. Someone who thrives in a fast-moving environment, enjoys working closely with founders, and knows how to turn complexity into clarity.
You have
- A Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, or Accounting.
- Proven experience as a CFO or senior finance leader in a start-up or scale-up.
- A successful track record in fundraising and investor relations.
- Strong understanding of production or manufacturing finance (ERP experience is a plus).
- Exceptional analytical skills and strategic business acumen.
- A collaborative mindset and a natural drive to get things done.
- Fluency in English (Danish is a plus, but not required).
If you have experience from biotech, food tech, or other product-based start-ups - that’s a big plus.
