Role Overview
We are seeking a Finance Director to oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the company. This individual will play a critical role in managing budgets, ensuring financial discipline, and supporting the company’s growth. While prior biotech experience is not required, strong financial management skills and the ability to work in a dynamic, growing organization are essential. Regular presence at the Aarhus site is required
Commitment: Minimum 3 days per week
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily financial operations including bookkeeping, payroll, expense management, and supplier payments.
- Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and cash flow in coordination with the CFO.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, annual financial reports and financial forecasts and scenario planning for internal and external stakeholders.
- Liaise with auditors, accountants, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance.
- Support grant reporting and funding applications
- Working closely with the CDO, CMO and CSO to manage and track project spend.
- Implement and maintain efficient financial processes and systems.
- Manage FX exposure and banking costs/interest income
- Ensure full use of R&D tax credit and other available financial benefits to SMEs
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; professional certification is a plus.
- Solid experience in financial management, preferably in small-to-medium-sized organizations.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, budgeting, and financial reporting.
- Hands-on, detail-oriented approach with the ability to manage both strategic and operational tasks.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluent in Danish and English.
