Type: Full-time Project-Based Contract - up to 8 months
About Synamics
Synamics is an early-stage Silicon Valley startup developing AI-driven solutions to predict and overcome biological resistance, and is the first and only company focused exclusively on anticipating resistance before it emerges. Our proprietary AI platform, Dynaptive™, anticipates how resistance will develop and designs compounds to block it in advance.
We’ve validated our MVP as a drug discovery tool in oncology, where resistance is the leading cause of treatment failure. Our models outperform competitors on key benchmarks, and we hold a first-mover advantage in a large, underserved market.
Role Overview
We’re seeking a self-motivated Software Engineer to help evolve our MVP platform into a standalone product. The current platform functions as a backend-only prototype for internal use. Your role will be to help extend and refine the backend, make it more usable for external users, and lead the development of an initial frontend interface. This includes building functionality for users to upload data and receive outputs, as well as contributing to new product specifications as we expand the platform at the same time.
This is a high-performance role with no formal onboarding phase. Major deliverables will be expected shortly after starting.
You will work directly with the CTO and leadership team, executing a defined work plan with minimal supervision. As the sole software engineer on the team, you must be confident in your skills, comfortable taking ownership, and fully accountable for your deliverables. It is essential that you can work independently and demonstrate a track record of doing so. Candidates will be asked to provide evidence of this during the application process.
This is an ideal role for someone who thrives at the intersection of AI, science, and business, enjoys experimenting with creative approaches, and is eager to take initiative in a fast-paced startup environment.
This is a full-time contract position with a gross monthly salary of DKK 30,000 to 35,000, depending on qualifications and experience. We offer flexibility in working location: either on-site at Symbion Østerbro with one other team member or remotely from home.

- What relevant experience do you have that you want us to know about?
- Have you built any similar things or worked on similar projects? Tell us about them.
- Evidenced ability to work independently on projects with minimal supervision is a requirement of this position; tell us about the time you worked in a highly autonomous position before. How did you handle it?
- How do you handle ambiguity of deliverables in autonomous roles?
- What should you do if you work in a small cross-functional team and you’re the only software engineer and the others don’t ‘speak your language’?
- What’s your process when you're tasked with building something from scratch?
- How do you test and validate your work when you're the only developer?
- Which part of the stack do you feel most confident in, and which would you need support on?
