About ArivinTx:
Arivin Therapeutics is a Finnish drug development company dedicated to halting the rapidly escalating antimicrobial resistance (AMR) crisis. Whereas in the 1950s, antibiotics were effective for roughly 21 years before resistance mechanisms emerged, today, that timeframe has been reduced to just one year. Pathogens are evolving resistance far more quickly than our ability to develop treatments against them. This has resulted in 4.7 million associated deaths in 2021, a number that is still rapidly rising.
We believe that true scientific breakthroughs are essential to combat this global challenge—not just by creating another antibiotic. That’s why we focus on developing Future-Proof antimicrobial strategies: therapies designed to effectively treat already resistant bacterial pathogens, without promoting rapid resistance themselves. Unlike traditional antibiotics, these therapies provide a more sustainable solution that help address the ongoing threat of bacterial resistance and withstand the test of time. As a company, Arivin plays a very active role in the AMR community: We are Finland’s National Coordinator for AMR in the BEAM Alliance and a member of the elite antimicrobial incubator INCATE.
