As a part-time R&D Assistant at REDUCED, you will play a central role in our mission to develop upcycled food solutions, contributing to each stage of the product life cycle from ideation to launch. Working approximately 22-24 hours per week, you will report to the Application Manager as your primary reference point, creating and testing savory applications that showcase the sensory appeal of REDUCED ingredients.
This part-time role may lead to full-time employment based on performance and company needs, offering opportunities for growth within REDUCED’s dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
Ingredient Applications
- Develop new savory food applications for business meetings, customer presentations and sensory panels
- Formulate ingredients to meet customer-specifc, technical requirements.
- Assist in creating custom application handbooks that can be utilized across departments to support sales, customer engagement, and technical demonstrations.
- Support R&D team by executing sensory trials and generating data points, aiding the R&D and Quality teams in creating consistent, high-quality products.
Prototyping Support
- Work with the NPD team to set up and prototyping trials, ensuring all necessary materials are pretreated, prepared and stored to maintain quality over time.
- Work quality related tasks to collect and document samples for analysis, ensuring consistent documentation and accuracy for product evaluation.
Laboratory Maintenance
- Maintain an organized kitchen lab environment and manage inventory and supplies.
- Facilitate the smooth flow of samples and materials between REDUCED’s HQ in
- Nordhavn and R&D lab at the University of Copenhagen.
- Uphold cleanliness and safety standards in the lab to create an efficient workspace for all collaborating departments.
Qualifications
- Educational & Professional Background: Proven experience in hospitality and food science, ideally, with a focus on fermentation. MSc in Food related disciplines is a plus.
- Drivers’s licence: Car
- Attention to Detail: Ability to follow precise protocols, ensuring consistency in product testing and preparation.
- Organizational Skills: Strong multitasking abilities, with experience managing both lab tasks and interdepartmental requests.
