The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the biotech and pharmaceutical industry with particular reference to the areas of metabolic disorders and non-coding RNA biology and applications, with a proven track record in managing scientific publications and driving engagement at international congresses. Resalis Therapeutics’ transformative metabolic disease approach targets a master regulator of key pathways underlying obesity and fatty liver disease.

The company is applying its unique understanding of the non-coding RNA drug modality and lipid metabolism to develop its lead program, RES-010, into a safe and convenient treatment providing disease-modifying therapeutic impact including durable weight loss and reduction of hepatic steatosis.

Building on robust preclinical evidence, Resalis is about to initiate the clinical program for RES-010 for a range of metabolic disorders.

Resalis Therapeutics is a biotechnology company committed to developing antisense oligonucleotides (ASO) for the treatment of metabolic and liver diseases, including obesity and other relevant indications.

The company is developing a treatment strategy based on the research work conducted by Prof. Riccardo Panella at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (Harvard Medical School, Boston MA) and at Desert Research Institute (Reno NV) together with Prof. Sakari Kaupinnen, Director of the Center for RNA Medicine and Professor at the Dept of Clinical Medicine, Aalborg University & Dept of Hematology, Aalborg University Hospital (Copenhagen DK)

Resalis Therapeutics collaborates with multiple private and academic Institutions including Aalborg University and Molecular Biotechnology Center (Turin, IT).

The company’s lead compound RES-010 aims to be the first transformative anti-sense oligonucleotide able to modify metabolism by blocking miR-22, a master regulator of lipogenesis-related genes. Its mechanism of action has proven effect on mitochondria biogenesis, lipid metabolism, brown adipose tissue activation that translate potentially into clinical benefits:

· For overweight and obese subjects, weight reduction and long-term weight control in addition to better glucose tolerance

Resalis Therapeutics preclinical program for its lead compound RES-010 includes regulatory studies and several investigations to identify the optimal therapeutic positioning in obesity.

The company is about to start the clinical FIH trial in healthy volunteers and patients.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Publication Strategy Development:

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement a comprehensive publication strategy aligned with the company's objectives and ongoing studies.

- Identify key scientific insights and trends to guide the development of impactful publications.

2. Abstract Submission and Congress Attendance:

- Lead the process for abstract submissions to international congresses, ensuring all deadlines and requirements are met.

- Coordinate and facilitate the company's presence at major scientific congresses, including preparing presentations and posters.

3. Medical Writing:

- Serve as the primary medical writer for the company, drafting, editing, and finalizing manuscripts, abstracts, posters, and other scientific communications.

- Ensure all publications are of the highest quality, scientifically accurate, and comply with relevant guidelines and standards.

4. Stakeholder Collaboration:

- Work closely with internal teams, including R&D, clinical, regulatory, and marketing, to ensure alignment and consistency in scientific messaging.

- Establish and maintain relationships with external authors, key opinion leaders, and collaborators.

5. Project Management:

- Manage the publication pipeline, track progress, and ensure timely completion of all publication-related activities.

- Maintain accurate records of publication activities and provide regular updates to senior management.

Qualifications:

- Advanced degree in life sciences, medical writing, or related field (PhD, MD, PharmD preferred).

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in publication management within the biotech or pharmaceutical industry.

- Proven experience in medical writing and developing publication strategies.

- Strong knowledge of scientific congresses and the abstract submission process.

- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills.

- Willingness to travel occasionally for congresses and meetings.

Work Environment: This is a high growth, fast paced small organization. The ability to be productive and successful in an intense work environment is critical. Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally is required, it is anticipated that this will be 20% of work time.
