To strengthen our project organization for a dedicated New Product Development Program, we are looking for an experienced and talented commercial, product- & science-based leader to drive the go-to-market strategy for a new, exciting technology set to launch in 2025.
The role
In this newly established role, you will serve as the Product & Commercial Leader for an innovative technology set to launch in 2025. You will collaborate closely with the cross-functional project team and the R&D technology owner to drive global market entry. Your main responsibilities will include developing and executing the go-to-market strategies and tactics, as well as overseeing the commercial entry across the global markets as well as the execution across Sophion internally.
This role requires a blend of commercial, sales, and product management skills, along with a strong understanding of science & technology within the field of primary and stem cell derived tissues for in-vitro measurements in labs working with drug discovery.
You will be part of the Management Team for the new Technology, work in Ballerup, and report directly to the CEO of Sophion.

Key responsibilities and tasks
- Oversee program execution: In close collaboration with R&D and other departments, ensure the program has the necessary employees, capabilities, competencies, equipment, and facilities to ensure its technical excellence and commercial success.
- Technology Leadership: Serve as the primary leader for the product, collaborating closely with the project team and technology owner to ensure successful development and launch. Additionally, you will work with the technology owner and the upper management team to develop the future roadmap.
- Go-to-Market Strategy: Develop and execute comprehensive go-to-market strategies and tactics to drive global market entry and adoption. This includes working closely with the Global Marketing function to drive awareness and inbound traffic.
- Sales execution: Work closely with the project organization to execute initial sales phases including integration, collaboration & alignment with existing regional organizations.
- Operations & internal integration: Work with operations & after sales departments to integrate the technology into our current setup and model to ensure stable delivery and quality for our customers.
- Commercial Oversight: Lead the execution and oversee the commercial entry across global markets, ensuring alignment with company goals and market demands.
- Internal Execution: Lead the execution of commercial strategies within Sophion, coordinating with internal teams to ensure seamless implementation.
- Market Analysis: Continuously conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify and stay up-to-date with business opportunities, trends, and competitive landscape.
- Sales Enablement: Develop sales enablement tools and training programs to support the sales team in effectively promoting the technology.
- Performance Monitoring: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the success of the product in the market.
- Board and Management Reporting: Frequentlyprepare and present detailed reports on performance, market adoption, trends, and strategic initiatives to the board and senior management.
Key Qualifications
- A master’s degree. You could have an educational background in business development, sales management or other relevant field, and working experience from the life science or med tech industry. You could also have an educational background in engineering or science combined with commercial experience.
- Minimum +7 years of relevant professional and leadership experience
- Proven experience leading a complex NPD program from idea to market introduction, preferably from a life science or MedTech company.
- Preferably a combination of commercial and technical expertise
- Strategic mindset and ability to translate technical concepts into business value.
- Proven track record in developing and executing commercial plans that ensure success launch of new products
- Proficient written and oral English

Travel is required
Sophion have offices in Denmark, USA, Japan and China, and customers all over the world. Thus, this is an international role: You should expect to travel around 40-50 days a year.
