YOUR ROLE AT OVARTIX
Reshape the future of female reproductive health with us
Using cell engineering, you will develop human centric models for the discovery and validation of novel drug targets for female reproductive conditions with high unmet need.
- Designing and validating assays to measure cell line functionality
- Generation and validation of lentiviral particles for cell engineering
- Designing and generating genetically modified cell lines | lentiviral particles, CRISPR/Cas9
- Designing and generating lentiviral libraries for CRISPR screenings
- Maintaining excellent record keeping of all research activities
- Writing patents, publications and delivering progress reports
You will report directly to the VP, Research & Development.
YOUR SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate will have the right to work in the UK, and will have the following qualifications, skills and experience:
ESSENTIAL
- PhD in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology or similar
- Postdoc in a relevant discipline or 3+ years experience in academia / industry (post PhD)
- Interest in women’s reproductive health research and therapeutic development
- Experience in:
- generating lentivirus and lentivirus libraries for cell engineering and gene editing
- generating cell lines using lenti and/or CRISPR/Cas9
- antibody-based/fluorochrome sorting and analysis using flow cytometry
- transfection methods
- western blotting, ELISA, qPCR and ddPCR
- gene expression assays, functional assays and cell-based assay development
- high-content imaging and analysis
- Proven ability to work productively, independently and within a team
- Track record of independent publications and/or patent submission as a first author
PREFERRED
- 3+ years’ relevant postdoctoral academic and/or industry experience
- Single-cell analysis
- Experience in a commercial laboratory environment
- Functional Genomics
- Familiarity with drug discovery
