Synamics Therapeutics is a seed-stage company pioneering a new technology that models and predicts evolutionary processes at the molecular level for some of the most challenging diseases. We are seeking a highly skilled computational chemist to serve as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) in Los Angeles, playing a pivotal role in advancing our technical breakthroughs and establishing our future R&D site. This role will be essential in preparing our product for market readiness.
Education & Expertise
PhD or post-doc in Computational Chemistry with extensive expertise in structural biology and drug design.
Strong understanding of AI concepts and experience in designing and implementing scalable AI solutions.
Strong programming skills.
Experience
Industry drug design and discovery experience, preferably within fast-growing biotech companies.
Demonstrated success in biotech projects, particularly in computational modeling and drug discovery.
Proven ability to scale technical solutions and align them with strategic business goals.
Experience with fundraising and pitching is a plus.

Responsibilities
- Co-develop and execute a comprehensive technology strategy for fundraising in collaboration with the co-founders.
- Oversee the company's technical strategy and development efforts, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Define and communicate the company's technical vision and narrative to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Present the technical vision and roadmap in high-level discussions with stakeholders.
- Allocate approximately 50% of the time to managing and leading the R&D team, with the remaining 50% dedicated to designing, coding, and individual contributions.
- Utilize machine learning algorithms to analyze large volumes of historical data for predictive insights.
- Work closely with the co-founding team to develop a product and technology strategy that supports business goals.
- Oversee the development and refinement of Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) with rapid iterations based on feedback.
- Ensure product capabilities are marketable externally and scalable for future growth.
- Build and manage a high-performing technology organization, including engineering, development, and infrastructure teams.
- Create and manage budgets for multiple simultaneous projects, balancing financial constraints with business goals.
